I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Emily Dickinson - 1830-1886
I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there's a pair of us!
Don't tell! they'd advertise – you know!
How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one's name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!

- Does the title immediately change how you think about it?
- Does the poem’s title paint a picture that gives a specific time frame, setting or action?
- Does it imply multiple possibilities?
- Who “tells” the poem?
- Does the poem give any clues about the speaker’s personality, the point of view, age, or gender?
- Who is the speaker addressing?
- Does the speaker seem attached or detached from what is said?
- Explain the meaning of each line. (stanza)
- Draw a picture that illustrates the poem.

It fells like a pat on the back
It smells like flowers in the spring
It tastes like icecream

Sunny and going to plus 11 today.
Please read for 20 minutes today then you decide to write about how your spring break was the same or how it was different than last year or just write about how you are feeling today.
Today will also look at poetry. Some of you already have the package. If you don't I will post the assignment below.
Today I would like you to write an acrostic poem about yourself following the instructions below:
Create a folder on your computer or keep your poems in a binder.
When you finish a poem proof read it and share it with me. I will mark it and send it back. Place it in your folder or binder we will make a project with your poetry at the end.
Your first poem is an Acrostic:
How to write a name acrostic poem:
Line 1 Your first name
Line 2 "It means" then 3 adjectives that describe you.
Line 3 "it is the number" followed by your favorite number.
Line 4 Describe a colour using "It is like" but do not name the colour.

It is the memory of Gram,
Who taught me to believe and to trust,
When she believed in me,
My name is Lisa,
It means that I try always to be the best that I can be.
Please write 3 in total: one serious, one funny and make one using any name of a person place or thing.

Today, March 26, 2020, Cloudy
Thank-you for returning your assignments. I enjoy reading and responding to them.
Today we are going to have some fun with these questions:
1. A man buys a new car and goes home to tell his wife. He goes the wrong way up a one-way street, nearly runs into 7 people, goes onto the sidewalk, and takes a shortcut through the park. A policeman sees all this and still doesn't arrest him. Why not?
2. If you had a machine that could generate one million dollars a day, what would you be willing to pay for it?
3. Kelita kicks a soccer ball. It goes 10 feet and comes back to her. How is that possible?
4. How much dirt is there in a hole 3 feet deep, 6 feet long, and 4 feet wide?
5. If it took 8 people 10 hours to build a wall, how long would it take 4 people to build the same wall?
Answers will be posted tomorrow. Have fun!

20 minutes of silent reading everyday.
Take ten minutes to write on the subject I post and send it to [email protected] from office 365.
Most of you have been away for almost a week. I hope everyone is well. Today's topic is to write about what you have been doing. For example, I went for many walks and I even took our granddaughters for rides behind the quad on the GT. We baked a pie, made a pizza, played math bingo, read books and watched a Dogs Purpose. If you haven't watched it you should check it out.Today, I am creating assignments and reading some new material for ELA. At lunch my husband and I are going for a walk on the river and then I will continue to work after we share a salad.
Please keep me informed about your days even if it's playing video games. I have time to check them out and try to understand the games with the help of the computer or my granddaughter. lol
I am going to set a time and we can try to face time. I will get back to you on that and maybe I could create a blog. Email your paragraph on office 365 and let me know if you would like a blog or to face time.
Our write for Monday is:
Write about your experiences these last few days and include any questions you have about assignments or COVID 19.
